Our Story
In Scotland, a bothy is more than just a building; it is a hillside refuge where travellers find warmth, rest, and stories shared around the fire. We chose this name because Central Otago’s rugged peaks and wide skies feel shaped by the same ancient hand. Settlers from Scotland, along with many others, worked and loved these hills as their new home. Our Bothys are a nod to their grit and determination, and to the spirit they instilled in their new country.

We’ve built our reputation on trust, artisanal care, and a deep connection to the land.
